  • What is included in a Deep Clean?

  • What is included in a Move In or Move Out Clean?

  • What are the differences between a Standard Clean and a Deep Clean?

Why Have Different Cleaning Types?

The main reason we have different cleaning service levels is so that customers can choose the right amount of work done to meet their needs. On our side of the equation we have to know approximately how long a cleaning will take so we can price it correctly and schedule our cleaners appropriately. We also need to pay the cleaners for their work, and different types of cleaning require different amounts of work and experience.

Many people think “just anyone” can clean, which couldn’t be further from the truth. Cleaning is a learned skill like anything else. When we have larger jobs or more complicated ones we must send adequately trained staff to handle the work.

Different Cleaning Types

Many cleaning companies have recently been creating additional cleaning types to address different customer needs. The traditional three types of cleaning are: Standard, Deep, and Move In or Move Out.

Each cleaning type has a different purpose:

Standard Clean

Cleaning Approach:

  • Dusting vs Wiping

  • Surface vs Deep

  • Minimal Time vs Maximal Time

Standard cleaning can be thought of as “maintenance cleaning”. This is what you do on a daily basis to maintain your home.

We recommend you start your service with a Deep Clean so we have a nice clean home that only requires minimal ongoing maintenance cleaning

Deep Clean

Cleaning Approach:

  • Wiping and Disinfecting

  • Deep vs Surface

  • Taking Time vs Efficiency

A Deep Clean allows us to take more time to disinfect more items, use more cleaning agents, and use our hands to wipe items down.

This is the best cleaning to start with. The main difference is we wipe away dust and disinfect vs surface dusting. However, this takes additional time so the cost is higher.

Move In/Out Clean

Cleaning Approach:

  • Wiping and Disinfecting

  • Behind and Under vs Surface

  • Spotless vs Clean

Are you moving out or moving into a new home or apartment? Do you want to make sure the home is spotless for landlords or new home owners?

This clean was designed to allow us to clean appliances and remove additional grime that might have built up over time.

What Are The Cost And Time Differences?

Given that these three types of cleans have different purposes and time, they each have different costs involved. The main additional cost is labor. Taking the time to disinfect takes longer than just dusting, and cleaning items like appliances takes much longer than surfaces like countertops or shelves.

We also use more expensive cleaning products and use more towels and disposables. Let’s do a cost comparison?

Standard Clean

Example Home:

3 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom 1900sqft Home

Average Cost $225

Deep Clean

Example Home:

3 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom 1900sqft Home

Average Cost $300

Move In or Out Clean

Example Home:

3 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom 1900sqft Home

Average Cost $350

Which Service Is Right For You?

Ultimately we are here to provide whatever cleaning service you think meets your needs. You can pick and choose different items individually based on your unique situation. However, we do have some general recommendations:

  • Start with a Deep Cleaning - You will feel the difference in your home. A deep cleaning provides you that “freshly and clean” feeling inside your home that we all want.

  • Professionally Clean Once Per Month Minimum - Your home is an investment. Your health is an investment. Your family will appreciate it. You will save the time, headache and stress. You will know that at least once per month your home will look amazing.

  • The One That Best Fits Your Budge - Ultimately we all live within budget constraints, and we can usually work within your budget. Just let us know how you might like a cleaning modified and we will be happy to adjust.

What We Do and Don’t Do

We get various questions about services from potential clients quite often. Unfortunately, many people are looking for services that are outside the scope of wha a home cleaning company can perform. These are some examples:

  • Expecting Services Not Offered - We get many odd requests:

    • Removing Trash or Debris - Our cleaners do not come with trucks or equipment to do this. There are specialized people who do this.

    • Moving Furniture - Our cleaners are (usually) not the type of people who move furniture, and there are immense liabilities involved. There are specialized people who do this.

    • Moving Appliances - Our cleaners are not trained or equipped for this, and there are immense liabilities involved.

    • Doing Laundry - People have all kinds of special clothing, which is often expensive and needs special treatment. It is not possible to do this in the time we allocate for cleaning a home. The exception is placing a pre-washed bedsheet on the bed.

    • Doing Dishes - This involves cleaning dishes that we know nothing about and potential bio-hazards.

    • Clean Pet Accidents - Taking on this can mean extensive time, chemicals and potential bio-hazards.

    • Chandeliers and Elevated Items - These (usually) require being on ladders, which represents potential falls, injuries, accidents and damage.

We also see potential clients:

  • Underestimating Cost - Many people underestimate how much it costs to clean their home. Why? Because many people believe they can “just find someone” and get them cheaper, and in some cases this is true. However, the difference is similar to using a trained handyman work on your home, or randomly hiring someone. One will cost more, but will get the job done correctly.

  • Not Choosing The Right Service - We provide different services to meet different needs. Ultimately this is a service where time and materials are the most important aspects. If you have a particular need, pick the right service and we promise you will be musth happier.
